Most fine red wines and some whites throw sediment during their development. Decanting through the sieve of a wine funnel can easily remove this, to prevent it spoiling the taste and clarity of the wine. The fine mesh strainer located inside of the funnel will collect any sediment and can easily be removed when cleaning is required. Simply pour the wine through the funnel allowing your wine to breathe to an optimum level before serving. The eight tiny holes in the neck aerate the wine and improve the flavour. The diameter of the aerating tube is about 18mm or 3/4 inches and the diameter of the top funnel is 90mm or 3.5 inches. The funnel is not suitable for wine bottles but ideal for a decanter.
